Johan Dippenaar

Chief Executive Officer, Petra Diamonds Limited

Johan Dippenaar (CA) has 25 years’ experience in the leadership and management of diamond mining companies. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Petra Diamonds Limited, he was CEO of ASX-quoted Crown Diamonds which merged with Petra in 2005. Mr Dippenaar has led Petra through a period of significant growth, taking annual production from ca. 175,000 carats in FY 2006 to 3.2 million carats in FY 2015, and establishing the Company as a leading independent producer.

Alan Chirgwin

Vice President Sales and Marketing, Copper and Diamonds

Alan Chirgwin was appointed as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Copper and Diamonds for Rio Tinto in April 2017. In this role, Alan leads all commercial initiatives for copper and diamonds, including sales and marketing, supply chain management and product stewardship efforts.

Alan is an experienced mining executive with a proven track record in senior commercial roles with internationalresponsibility. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Alan served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BHP Billiton's iron ore business. This following a series of leadership roles in Health, Safety and Environment, Operations, and Sales and Marketing across BHP Billiton’s product groups in Australia, The Netherlands and Singapore.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry and has completed postgraduate studies in Environmental Law from James Cook University of North Queensland, Australia

Clifford Elphick

Chief Executive Officer, Gem Diamonds Limited

Clifford joined Anglo American Corporation in 1986 and was seconded to E. Oppenheimer and Son as Harry Oppenheimer’s personal assistant in 1988. From 1990-2004, he was Managing Director of E. Oppenheimer and Son. During that time, Clifford was a Director of Central Holdings, Anglo American and DB Investments as well as serving on the De Beers Executive Committee.

Clifford established the global Private Equity Business of E. Oppenheimer and Son and originated and led the privatisation of De Beers in 2000. After leaving the Anglo/De Beers Group, he established Gem Diamonds and is the Chief Executive Officer. He is also the non-Executive Chairman of Zanaga Iron Ore Company Limited, a company he established in 2006.

William Lamb

President and Chief Executive Officer, Lucara Diamond Corp.

William Lamb has over 23 years of experience in mining and operations in Canada and several Southern African countries. Mr. Lamb spent 13 years with De Beers working across their operations in Southern Africa and Canada focusing on heavy mineral concentration, project development and operational readiness. He joined Lucara Diamond Corp. in 2008 and was instrumental in the acquisition of the AK6 asset, now the Karowe Mine, which has been brought into production as one of the world’s most significant producers of large, high quality diamonds.

Stephen Lussier – Chairman

Chief Executive Officer, Forevermark

Executive VP- Marketing De Beers Group

Stephen graduated with a BA (Honours) from Boston College in 1979 and received an MBA from Columbia University in New York in 1981.

After working for the New York advertising agency N.W. Ayer, Stephen joined De Beers in 1985 and was appointed Director the Consumer Marketing Division in 1993. He was given responsibility for External and Corporate Affairs on the De Beers Executive committee in 2005 and made Executive Vice president – Marketing at the De Beers Group in 2012.  He was also appointed Director at the Diamond Trading Company (DTC) in 1995, joining the Executive Committee in 2002 and took up the role of Chief Executive Officer - Forevermark, in 2009.  He became Chairman of the Diamond Producers Association in 2016.  He has led the launch of many successful diamond product concepts including the 3-stone ring, tennis bracelet, solitaire necklace and ‘Journey’ diamond jewellery. More recently he has overseen the De Beers’ investment in De Beers Jewellers and has led the global expansion of Forevermark into 35 markets and over 1,750 retail doors.

Andrey Polyakov

Vice-President of ALROSA

Andrey Polyakov joined ALROSA Group in 2004, starting as Advisor to CEO of ALROSA Investment Group and coming to ALROSA Company in 2007. Since 2013 he has held the position of ALROSA Vice-President responsible for all the external relations of the Group. In 2016 Andrey Polyakov was elected President of the World Diamond Council.

Jim Pounds – Vice Chairman

Executive Vice President, Diamonds of Dominion Diamond Corporation

Jim Pounds is the Company's Executive Vice President, Diamonds. He joined the Company in August 2002 as the Managing Director of the Company’s Belgian subsidiary. Prior to joining the Company, he was Project Manager, De Beers Group following his position as Managing Director, Diamdel Israel, which is De Beers’ direct trading arm in Israel.
