Exploration and Development:

De Beers is exploring for diamonds in Canada, India, South Africa and Botswana. Projects currently under development include the Gahcho Kué project in Canada a JV with Mountain Province Diamonds, the Jwaneng Cut 8 project which will extend the life of mine to beyond 2030, and the construction of an underground mine at Venetia in South Africa, which will ensure diamonds are recovered at the mine until at least 2043.

Diamond Sales and Marketing

De Beers sells the majority of its rough diamond production through long-term contract sales to its customers (sightholders) at 10 sights (selling events) each year. The remainder are sold via online auctions. De Beers has sales operations in Belgium, Hong Kong, Israel, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

De Beers markets polished diamonds to consumers through Forevermark. Forevermark diamonds are hand-selected for their beauty and rarity; each is genuine, untreated and natural. Less than one percent of the world’s diamonds are eligible to become Forevermark. Each Forevermark diamond is responsibly sourced, originating at a carefully selected mine that benefits the people, community and country where it is located. Forevermark traces each diamond along its journey, ensuring strict business, environmental and social standards are met at every step.

De Beers retails diamond jewellery through De Beers Diamond Jewellers, an independently managed 50/50 joint venture with Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
